In the morning after breakfast we went straight Mount Vernon in John’s pick-up truck. Walked around George Washington’s mansion and museum and given a guided tour of his home. The museum was very well presented and an introductory movie gave an excellent introduction to George’s life and achievements. It also depicted life in the 1700s and gave a lot information about his wife Martha.
We drove back to Alexandria and had lunch at charthouse on the marina. As we walked back to the hotel we visited a shop called Helen Oliva which sold beautifully decorated wreaths made of apples and other fruits. Theresa bought an apple wreath for home. After a short rest at the hotel we decided that we like Georgetown so much we would go back there by taxi to Georgetown again. We thought we would try a different restaurant so we had drinks in Sequa restaurant and stayed there for dinner. It was an amazing evening with good friends. We took a Taxi back to the hotel.
