The last day is always a bit strange and I had nothing much to do before my flight home today at 6 pm so I packed my bags and left them with the hotel concierge.
I then walked all the way yet again to the National Mall and visited the Smithsonian Museum of Art. It was nicely presented but not particularly interesting. Although I did enjoy the portraits of all the Presidents of the USA spanning George Washington through to George W. Bush. Time was racing by so I decided I would have a quick visit to the Smithsonian museum of American History. This was very interesting indeed and was a wonderful story of how America evolved into the country it is today. It was a shame that I only had an hour before having to get back to the hotel to take a taxi to the airport. So I did a quick whistle stop mad rush through the museum to get an overview, telling myself I’ll be back some time to spend more time. In the cab on the way to the airport I come to the opinion that Washington DC is one of my most favourite cities in the world to visit and felt sure I would return in the future.
