Another round of plastic toss out crockery and cutlery for breakfast. Nuts!!!!!!
Hit the road via Tim Horton's. Makes an almost drinkable coffee for North America. So suck at coffee!
Today was the drive back to Toronto to ditch the car and be in place for a bus ride to Tobermory where we start the trail on Monday. This in itself is a story - but that'll come in a minute.
We had to make a compulsory stop at a place called Barrie. Hedley woke up at some stupid hour in the morning and I heard him swearing and rummaging through his stuff. Discovered he left a critical piece of kit at home. So he was flashing red lights, sirens and panic buttons all operational. I hoped online, found out where we could get it in the morning and crashed back to bed.
These last couple of days were planned different because we had planned to do food drops at a few places on the way to Tobermory and leave the car there. Canada insists on same place pick up and drop off for cars so that fixed that idea. So thought just get a bus and that fell over because it only goes down one day a week and wasn't gonna fit with the dates. So jump out of the box thinking required and I literally booked a bus tour going to Tobermory. Includes the usual tourist stuff and a compulsory glass bottom boat tour to Flowerpot Island. So that should be interesting. What could be amusing is telling the driver we are not returning to Toronto. May cause issues but we'll deal with that when the time comes.
The drive back to Toronto was a drive back to Toronto. Went to drop the car off and they are closed. Rang and was told we couldn't leave it or we'd be charged until Tuesday because of holiday weekend. They never told us that! Our option was to drive it to the airport as that was the only open office. They need to sight the car as returned????? Load of crock but we sucked it up and got there. The guy there seemed reasonable and clocked the car back in.
Taxi to tonight's digs, sorted food and stuff. Dinner and bed!
No pics. Just a driving day!
And my hip hip hooray for the day is that my writing is caught up!
